Theoretical Framework

This theoretical framework will explore the pertinent themes for this research:

the development of a candy pulling and cutting machine for Tira tira production will

be discussed with accordance to background and production theory of the study. The

research's conceptual framework concludes the theoretical framework.

1.1 Product Overview

Thiffeault, Jean-Luc. (2018), discussed that tira tira is a sort of candy prepared

by boiling sugar to a crucial temperature, allowing the mixture to cool on a slab, and

then repeatedly stretching and folding the resulting mass. Until the late nineteenth

century, the candy was made entirely by hand - a laborious process. The procedure

was ready for automation. Firchau (1893) was the first to patent a mechanical candy

puller; his invention consisted of two counter-rotating rods on concentric circles.

The objective of pulling is to infuse the candy which provides a finer texture.

Numerous devices have been developed to aid with pulling and even cutting, all of

which are composed of a collection of fixed and moving rods or pins.

1.2 Production Theory

Marsden et al., (2000); Blandon et al., (2019), The actions or processes

associated with the production, cutting, and pulling of food, particularly candies, in

order to maintain the safety and quality in the most efficient and effective manner

possible. The distinction such as machine logistics and production chain management

is the significance placed on elements such as food quality, and safety within a certain

time frame.
The production theory of Thiffeault, Jean-Luc. (2018), identifies the scope and

depth of a candy manufacturing and assembly activities— cutting, pulling,

processing, manufacturing, and assembling. A single manufacturing process or

multiple processes, depending on internal and external factors. In other words, it may

involve simply one of the following processes: assembly, manufacturing, processing,

or design, or it may involve all of these. The process of the machine include all

associated with conceptual layout, sketching, patterning, prototyping, and research

and development (R&D).

Theoretically, production-management machine and design (cutting and

pulling) technology should have a stronger production and technological base than

one that does not. Although the framework is inconclusive, it offers an effective

conceptual framework for technology assessment for tira-tira candy machine, which

typically use production functions and modify forms to quantify technological levels.
