UPDATE ON THE RECOVERY OF THE MASVINGO KYLE SUBSTATION FAULT

The Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company (ZETDC) would like to advise its
valued customers that following the loss of power due to a fire that damaged some equipment at
Kyle 33/11kV Substation on 8th April 2021, the power utility has made the following progress relating
to full restoration of service to the affected areas:

 All affected areas were back-fed through an emergency resuscitation of a vandalised line and
electricity was restored on 9 April 2021 to most affected areas.

 A dedicated power supply line and substation was constructed and commissioned to provide
electricity to Bushmead Water Works.

 Due to capacity constraints on the back feed, customers in and around Masvingo who are
normally fed from Kyle substation from areas as indicated in the table below will have their
power supplies switched off during the corresponding stated days of the week from 0530
hours to 2100 hours as repair works at Kyle substation are still in progress.
