Bhutan Power Corporation Limited (BPC) is committed to deliver safe, re-


liable, and efficient power supply to its customers by meeting the regulatory
Guaranteed Services Levels as manadated by the Bhutan Electricty Authority
(BEA). BPC strives on a continuous basis to maintain high reliability of power
supply to its every connected customer by minimizing both the frequency and
the duration of power outages. Notwithstanding its sustained efforts to enhance
power supply reliability, BPC would like to inform its customers that certain
power outages are inevitable, for instance, emergency power outages during
times of severe weather events and planned outages for network modernization
to enhance safety, reliability, and security of power supply. BPC is conscious
of the direct and indirect economic and human costs associated with power in-
terruptions to customers. For this reason, BPC would like to appeal to all its
customers who assess themselves to be severely impacted from power interrup-
tions for any purpose to put in place a suitable backup power supply system to
insure against unavoidable power outages.
