​AIT Online English Entry Test Instructions 

To Test Taker,

You must carefully read and understand the online English test instructions before
the test day. ​We reserve the rights to terminate your online test if you fail to follow one of
them. ​If your test has been terminated, you will receive no score and the test fee will not be
refunded.

The online English test instructions

1) Internet connections and cameras are crucial facilities for invigilating the
online test. Make sure that your computer and your mobile phone are
equipped with a camera and good internet connection access.

2) Download and install the ZOOM application (https://zoom.us) onto your computer and
mobile phone. ​You can use a free version​. You must familiarize yourself with the Zoom
application before the test day.

You should know how to use ZOOM chat and share the screen .
We will only use ZOOM chat for our communication on the test day.

3) PREPARE YOUR SETUP. ​Make sure to force rotate into landscape mode on your
phone. ​Do not hold your phone during the test. You should have a phone
stand​. ​We should clearly see your screen, keyboard, and your working space
in front of the computer​ ​as shown in the picture below.

Your setup ​↑​ should be ready to be checked at 8 AM (Thailand time).

If you cannot prepare your setup on-time, your test will be terminated.

We suggest you prepare your setup now and email a picture of your setup to us via
lctesting@ait.asia to be checked at least 3 days before the test day.

4) Thailand time, at 7.30AM ​on the test day, you must join ZOOM both on your laptop
and on your mobile phone.​ ​Late arrival after 8:00AM will not be allowed to take
the test.
At 7:45AM​, ​you must share your laptop’s screen via ZOOM ​and wait for your
setup to be checked by the Language Center. ​You must share your screen from
7.45AM until you finish your test. ​Do not stop sharing your screen!​ ​If you do,
your test will be terminated.

5) DO NOT take photos of the screen​ or capture the screen or share the test. If we
have evidence that you do, your test will be terminated, and you will be banned from
taking AIT EET in the future.

6) DO NOT use microphone, earphones, or headphones.​ Please turn off your


speakers. You will not be allowed to use ZOOM chat during the test so if you have any
questions, please ask before you start the test.

7) DO NOT use any ​draft paper, notes, textbooks, dictionaries, or online sources
while testing. ​Text cannot be copied and pasted while composing your essay. ​Your
answers will be checked for originality. ​There are serious consequences at AIT for
those who plagiarize or copy.

8) DO NOT communicate with anyone during the test. ​You must be alone in a room
with no one else entering during the test. No talking. No singing.

9) Personal recording devices of any kind are strictly prohibited.

10) You are ​NOT ALLOWED​ to leave the test area during the test so prepare yourself
and be ready for the test!

11) DISABLE​ ​auto-correct applications on your laptop and browser that you will
use for taking the test​. Your test will be terminated if we see active auto-correct or
auto-suggest features during the test.

12) Once we start the test, we will provide you a link to access to our online test
platform. You need to type your information before you start the test.

You have 60 to answer an essay (no word limit). ​DO NOT PRESS ESCAPE (ESC)
FROM THE FULL SCREEN or ANY FUNCTION BUTTON (i.e. F1 F2 and so on)! If
you do, your test will be terminated.

If you finish your test before time, you can click the “submit” button to submit your
test. Your test will be automatically saved. You may leave ZOOM after you submit your
test.

Please note that if you have been admitted to AIT, you are required upon arrival
(first semester) to take the AIT’s Academic Writing Placement Test (AWPT) ​under
our testing conditions to validate your score. ​This test score will be used to demonstrate
that you have or have not fulfilled AIT’s language requirement for graduation.
