This challenge assignment involves developing steel framing for a new roof structure by creating structural columns, beams, and braces between the 04 - Roof Eaves and 04 - Roof Ridge levels. Requirements include using Steel ASTM A53 material for all framing, showing all steelwork on the roof plan without cuts, creating relevant elevations to document bracing and levels, using reference planes to set out the roof geometry, and using offsets to ensure a clash-free model. Video resources are provided to help with structural walls, floors, and callout views.

Learning Objectives within this challenge assignment are as follows:
• 1.1d Work with structural columns
• 1.1e Work with structural framing and connections • 3.1a Dimensions • 4.1e Create and manage callout views Video resources that may help with this challenge assigment are:
• 006 - Working with structural walls Part 1.mp4
• 008 - Working with structural floors Part 1.mp4 • 024 - Creating and managing callout views.mp4 In this challenge assignment you develop steel framing for a new roof structure. The original steelwork has been removed from the model. You are required to create the structural columns, beams, and braces for the new steel frame. Two levels are already created in the model, the 04 - Roof Eaves and the 04 – Roof Ridge. You do NOT need to model the structural connections as this will be subcontracted to the steel fabricator. Challenge Assignment 3 Challenge Assignment 3 Before selecting a modeling process, you must consider the following requirements:
• All steel framing to use the material Steel ASTM A53
• The structural roof plan must show all the relevant steelwork and not be cut with a cut plane. • Relevant framing elevations should be created to document bracing and steel levels. • Use reference planes to set out the roof geometry. • Use cut and cope to improve the steel framing presentation ONLY where 2D detail views are required. • Use Z and Y offsets to ensure that the model is clash free.

The new roof structure should be created in this area as shown in the image below.
