Consider A as the money Alison has, B as the money that
Billie has, and C as the money catie has. The ratio of
Alison’s money to Billie’s and catie’s is 2:3, and 2+3=5 so if
the money was split into 5 parts Alison would have 2 parts
and Billie and catie together will have 3 parts. Since $150
can be split equally into 5 x $30, Alison has $60, and Billie
and catie have $90 together. Since Billie has $40 less than
catie (who will be C) , Billie has $(C-40) which added to C
= 2C - 40 which equals 90. Then add 40 on both sides to
get 2C = 130 and divide by 2 to get C = 65.
$65

The possible additions are:

3+6=9
3+7=10
3+9=12
4+6=10
4+7=11
4+9=13
5+6=11
5+7=12
5+9=14
8+6=14
8+7=15
8+9=17
The different answers are 9,10,11,12,13,14,15 and 17
The primes are 11,13 and 17

If the average was 68, then the total marks of all
students = 68x50=3,400
The total of the 10 best scorers = 100x10=1,000
That leaves 40 people left with a total of 2,400 so the
average = 2,400 / 40 = 60

If a and b are the first two numbers,

The 1st term = a
2nd term = b
3rd = a+b
4th = a+2b
5th = 2a+3b
6th = 3a+5b
And 7th = 5a+8b = 285
We know 5a+8b=285, and a = 1, so 5+8b = 285
which means 8b=280 and b=35

If the house and gardens take up 51% , the
square lawn takes up 49%. If the square block
of land was 10x10, a 1x1 space will take up
1%. Therefore the lawn is 7x7 to take 49%.
That means 10-7 = 3 is the garden side length
so each garden will be 3x7 = 21 each which is
42% leaving the 3x3 house to be 9%
