Course This course will cover the basic principal of Physics which are applicable in medical
equipment used in Physical therapy. Also help to understand the fundamentals of currents,
Descriptio sound waves, Heat & its effects, electro medical radiations and their effects as well as their
n application in physical therapy.
Expected After successfully completing this course the student will:
Outcomes
 be able to understand the importance of the physiological principles of the human
body in terms of basic physics;
 use bio heat transfer to analyze therapeutic uses of thermal, electromagnetic and
ultrasound energies;
 gain an understanding of the basic physics of electromagnetic interactions,
electromagnetic inductions , short wave diathermy, microwave diathermy and its
applications
 apply the knowledge of x-ray systems and physics to analyze and compare the
performance of different medical x-ray imaging systems;
 Includes the parts of action therapy and other radiations (infrared radiation, effect
of ultra violet rays, microwave diathermy )
 Be able to understand and discuss the rationale behind the ethical principles
governing medical physics practice.
