Conflict of Interest Management Strategy

In accordance with the Employee Conflict of Interest Procedure, once a conflict is identified and declared, a Conflict
of Interest Management Strategy must be developed by the employee and their supervisor to appropriately manage or resolve the conflict. Once completed, this form is to be sent to Human
Resources via conflictofinterest@usq.edu.au where it will be stored confidentially on the employee’s personal file with the University.

The Conflict of Interest Management Strategy outlines the scope and nature of actions, conditions or restrictions put in place to manage, mitigate or eliminate any actual, potential or perceived
conflict of interest.

Specific actions may include consideration of activities of the following nature:

 Removal from situation or conflict.


 Restricted involvement in the situation or conflict.
 Recruitment of an independent third party to oversee part or all of the process.

More significant conflicts may also involve consideration of:

 Relinquishing an interest which is ongoing, unacceptable and/or likely to damage the reputation of the University, or
 as a last resort, Resigning from the role.

I agree to update this Conflict of Interest Management Strategy throughout the period of my employment with the University on an annual basis or until such time as the conflict ceases to
exist.

I agree to comply with any conditions or restrictions outlined in this Conflict of Interest Management Strategy to mitigate, avoid, manage or resolve any actual, potential or perceived
Conflict of Interest.

SUPERVISOR STATEMENT

I agree that the Conflict of Interest Management Strategy will manage, mitigate or remove any actual, potential, or perceived Conflict of Interest.

I will continue to monitor the strategies developed over the next 12 months, including formally through the annual Enrich review process, or until such time as the conflict ceases to exist.

I cannot adequately mitigate or resolve the conflict of interest with the Employee concerned and have referred the matter to the Director, Professional Integrity & Conduct for advice.
