LESSON 1

What's New

(Video will be uploaded on the Google classroom)

What's More (Act 1.)

1. The elements that are used in the scene are the sound and music because it has sound effects/sound
background. The singing voice of Lea Salongga is also part of its elements. The element gesture and
movement is also part of the scence because as I can see from the video, Miss Saigon acts while singing.
Another element is the costume and accessories because as seen in the video, Miss Saigon has a bag and
also her face was covered with black make-up just like a charcoal to portray poverty.

2. The characters deliver their lines well. They really enunciate words properly and gave life to each and
every word they say.

3. They portrayed their role correctly and put their soul into the character. They justified the role they
portrayed.

4. The setting is very messy and it's like a poor place. It is also very dark ang gives me an uncomfortable
feeling.

5. The sounds and music that were used in the play are sounds that creates fear or builds tension, eg a
repetitive ticking noise that increases in volume throughout a scene. The music also gave me a dark
atmosphere.

6. The play is spectacular because it has a good story and it was portrayed well. I can really feel the
emotion of the characters as if I am on the scene. The pronounciation of word when singing are very
clear and understandable.

Lesson 2

What's More (Act.1)

Activity 1: Visualize Me!

-If I am a director of the famous teleserye “Ang Probinsyano”, I would visualize my concept as an action
movie or film, and with this, I need to have an actor/actress who have a knowledge and experience
doing action movies. The qualities that I need in an actor/actress are hard-working, fierce, and strong in
character. The costumes that are needed are police and military costume with a firearm on it. The
characters should be energetic and have a daring and fierce face which can be enhance through make-
up.

What I Can Do

Answer this: If you were the director of a play, what three important qualities are you going to consider
when choosing the lead actor/actress for the play? Why? Write your answers in your activity notebook.

-If I were a director of a play, the three important qualities that I am going to consider when choosing
the lead actor/actress for a play, would be his/her charisma, behaviour, and how they act or put their
soul into the character. Charisma is one of the important qualities because an actor has to be delightful,
appealing, and enchanting to the viewers. This is because they portray the parts of real-life men and/or
women. They send out positive vibes that are dramatic and emotional which help the actor perform
their role perfectly. I also choose the behaviour as an important quality to consider because we cannot
collaborate properly when an actor/actress has an attitude problem. I need to have an ear that listens to
what I want and have an open mind to do their designated tasks properly. Lastly, the acting. I need to
have a person who knows how to act and how to put their soul into the character they are in. It is easier
for me to instruct when an actor/actress is good in acting because they have more knowledge on what
facial expressions or even gesture movements they need to do.
