Read Sophie's email. What is it about? What do you learn about


Sophie's likes and dislikes? Who do you think Catherine is?

- It's about travelling in New Zealand and missing home.

3. Work with a partner. Read the letter and email again.
1 what do 'stuff' and 'hanging in there' mean un Max's letter?
Find colloquial words in Sophie's email and express them less
colloquially.
