INDORE: Various NGOs in Indore in collaboration with Cry and Give India and other national
bodies are working to prepare the city for the third wave of coronavirus which is likely to affect
children. As part of the preparation, 57 oxygen concentrators were provided to Indore District
Hospital on Tuesday. Concentrators have been made available in various primary health
centres of Indore district including Manpur, Depalpur, Hatod, Sanwer, Simrol among others.

A transit hostel built using
tribal funds in 1983 is being
transformed into a so-
called camp office, which in
reality is a bungalow for
forest minister Vijay Shah,
even though there is no pro-
vision for the same.
The forest minister like
other state minister is enti-
tled to a bungalow in his
home constituency, i.e.
Khandwa or in Bhopal as it
is the state capital.
Forest workers who are
unhappy over the develop-
ment said that the conver-
sion of tribal transit hostel
will deny basic rights to
children of forest workers
and instead just provide an-
other comfortable accom-

The renovation work of
the hostel is going on since
March. In order to please
the minister, the officers
are busy gathering every
possible facility in the bun-
galow, some of the forest
workers said.
According to departmen-
tal sources, the hostel was
built 37 years ago with trib-
al funds.
It has been used by chil-
dren of forest workers for
years. But since last few
years, the officers are util-
ising the building for their
comfort. Taking advantage
of this, the officers have
given their green signal to
refurbish the bungalow so
that it is fit for a minister to
department in 1983-84, and
a transit hostel was built
with tribal funds. The con-
struction work was com-
pleted with Rs 2.69 lakhs.
Some additional rooms
were built. During that
time, the department only
allowed the children of for-
est workers coming from
tribal areas to stay.
For some years, it was
utilised for children of for-
est workers coming from
Dhar, Alirajpur, Jhabua
and other areas. In 2004-05,
the then DFO R Chaudhary
made a residence there.
The hostel was made a bun-
galow and around Rs 14
lakh was spent. In this re-
gard, the then collector had
also ordered an enquiry.
Later the hostel was kept
empty for some time.

Tomar, who had come to
the city for some personal
work, while returning

Monday stopped by at a
West Discom's property on
Bypass. The property was
not properly maintained.
He himself removed
branches and leaves from
the property and then paid
surprise visit to the power
grid, rural electricity dis-
tribution center office and
Mahalaxmi Nagar zone of-
fice located in Mangalia.
During his inspection,
the minister noticed negli-
gence in maintenance
work. He also found some
outsourced employees
missing from their duty.
Annoyed over negli-
gence, the minister imme-
diately gave verbal in-
structions to West Discom
managing director Amit
Tomar for taking strict ac-
tion on the negligence in
maintenance work and ab-
sence of outsourced em-
ployees on duty.
For the past few days, res-
idents of the city have been
witnessing power outrage.
The minister had received
information about resi-
dents' complaints against
frequent power cuts.
Sources claimed that the
minister paid surprise vis-
its at Mangalia based prop-
erties of West Discom to
establish what is causing
power outage. He was re-
portedly displeased over
negligence over power dis-
tribution work also.
Nearly 12 hours after the
minister's instructions,
West Discom executive di-

More than 8,816 applications
have been received in Indore
for admissions under Right
to Education Act (RTE) till
date. The last date to apply
for admissions under the act
is June 30.
A total of 12,816 children
will be admitted under the
provision to study free of
cost in private schools in the
district. To apply for RTE
seats, parents can visit the
official website www.rtepor-
tal.mp.gov.in., and click to
"Start Application".
The process of verification
of received online applica-
tions is going on and till now,
about 4,000 applications
have been verified.

Akshay Singh Rathore said,
"After online application un-
der the Right of Children to
Free and Compulsory Edu-
cation Act, it is mandatory
for the child's parents or
guardian to get the docu-
ment verification done by
July 1, 2021 as per the infor-
mation provided in the ap-
plication."
Those who have applied for
admissions under RTE must
remember to bring their
parent or guardian to the
public education centre with
the original documents for
verification. "If the docu-
ment verification is not
done in the concerned cen-
tre, the application will be
cancelled," Rathore said.
After verification, the
process of allocation of
seats in private schools will
begin for eligible applicants.
Seat allotment will be done
through a transparent on-
line lottery. The original doc-
uments are mainly caste cer-
tificate, child's birth certifi-
cate, residence certificate,
Aadhar card etc.
No need to bring
children for verification
Rathore said that keeping
in view the spread of Covid-
19, there is no need to bring
the children to the verifica-
tion centre for verification.
Parents can go to the centre
with the required docu-
ments. Immediately after
the verification, informa-
tion about being eligible or
ineligible is being sent to
the parent through SMS.
RTE MP Mobile App
The school education de-
partment has started the
RTE MP Mobile App from
this year for the conven-
ience of the parents.
On this app, parents will
be able to get information
about the nearby private
schools and the seats re-
served in them. Knowing
your eligibility, you can
download the application
form.
Parents can get informa-
tion about their nearest ver-
ification centre and verifica-
tion officers. Parents can
download this app from
Google Play Store.

But this year, the university gave the

DAVV used to conduct CET at nation-

accused. She alleged that the
police had not arrested the
accused even three months
after she had lodged her com-
plaint. The I-G assured the

The woman lodged a com-
plaint with IG Mishra that
the police had not arrest the
accused even after three
months as he was the son of
an MLA. She stated that the
accused and others had also
threatened her when she was
on her way home after lodg-
ing a complaint. She said the
accused was living in his
home without any fear and
the police had not arrested
him so far.
I-G Mishra said that the in-
vestigation into the case had
been completed and the ac-
cused would be arrested
soon. Information is also be-
ing sought from the investi-
gating officer in the case. Ac-
tion would be taken against
the investigating officer if
any negligence was found in
the case, the I-G reassured
the woman.
