Summer Term 2021

Guidelines for the Students

This is for the information of the students that the Summer Term for the Academic Year 2020-21
starts from June 8, 2021. The Courses during this Summer Term have been offered in four different
modes as mentioned below:

1. Mode A: Learning through Continuous Assessment Mode (Reading mode)

i. In this mode Instruction Plan shall be displayed to the students and they would be required
to continue their studies strictly following the same with the help of Reading material and
prescribed Text Book/Reference book for the course.
ii. The students shall be provided 3 assignments at regular time intervals throughout the
course duration. Submission of all the three assignments shall be mandatory for the
students.
iii. The assignments have been developed to be outcome-based with an objective that the
students study the concepts of the course exhaustively and gain clarity on the subject-
matter. The outcomes of the assignments shall be aligned with the course and programme
outcomes.
iv. In this mode the students shall be provided with the Instruction Plan of the course, the
students shall be required to meticulously study the course contents as per the Instruction
Plan and submit the assignments in adherence with the schedule. The students shall further
be provided with feedback and remarks over the evaluated assignments and they can use
them to further improve their knowledge.
v. A faculty shall also be allocated for all such courses and the students can consult these
faculty members to get their doubts clarified regarding any course content.
vi. The weightage of all the three assignments shall be equal and shall comprise to be the
overall Continuous Assessment part of the course for the student.
vii. It shall be mandatory for the students studying under Mode A to submit all the three
assignments through UMS. No exemption can be sought for the same.

viii. The students shall appear for the Term-end Exam as per normal procedure.

2. Mode B: Learning through Online Academic Connect (Online teaching Mode)

i. In this mode online classes are scheduled for the courses registered by the students and
will be taken by the allocated faculty members.
ii. For this mode time-table will be notified on UMS.
iii. The online classes shall be conducted by using MyClass interface.
iv. The online classes will be compulsorily held as per the time table and no deviation request
shall be taken or considered.
v. The relevant material of the lecture will be uploaded on the UMS and intimation regarding
the same will be given by your faculty members.
vi. There will be only one Assignment for the courses running in this mode and the same will
be allocated through UMS and students have to submit it online only on the UMS. The
marks will be uploaded by the faculty members on UMS.
vii. The assignment allocated to the students will cover all the topics that have been discussed
till the date of allocation of the assignment

viii. However, for the Practical component only courses the number of assignments shall be
according to the IP and number of best assignments to be considered for CA shall also be
as per the IP.

3. Mode C: courses with G grade registration

Mode C courses are those in which students have registered with G-Grade only. No faculty
allocation is required for all such courses.

4. Mode D: courses having ETP/ETV only

Project/Laboratory/Practical/Dissertations/Capstone etc. based courses are categorized in


Mode D.
