ESSAY

In recent years, the entertainment industry has expanded rapidly and entertainers such as TV
stars, pop musicians or sports players have gain(ed) a reputation (dùng cấu trúc not only) for
their fortune and assets. This trend clashes with an opposition from some people claiming that
celebrities are not worth it. (This trend directly clashes with the (longstanding) belief that…) In
the following paragraphs, I (shall)/will/would attempt to eloborate eloborate on both opinions
(and eventually agree with the current trend.) to show that…

(Before any in-depth analysis, it should pointed out that the concept of labor and compensation
for contribution had not been fully explored and established until the introduction of capitalism
and market economy. Only then did people start to view how society functions the same way as
we do today, which centers around the idea of rewarding payment in exchange for high-quality
product and service. In this case, job holders would make decent incomes if only they present
unique talents, useful skills or countless efforts. And this is where the controversy takes place.)

This phenonmena (stars) originated, get tracked back to, …(bắt nguồn từ) from the birth of
capitalism and market economy.

Some people are questioning whether entertainers are worth the money and popularity they
received, for three main reasons. Firstly, these careers might not seem to offer practical value to
the development of humankind. Most notably, (the joy and excitement) these(s) celebrities
(brought) bring to the public/produce are not considered to be in equivalence to scientific
breakthroughs, (architecture) architectural masterpieces or political changes. I would argue that
this comparison is one-sided and subjective because there are values with visible and immediate
effects whereas others, though as important, can not be understood with ease (cultivate mental
health, . I believe that one simple common measurement of success for most jobs should be
public recognition. As a matter of fact, singers and players would not have made a fortune
pursing their passions if it wasn’t for the love and support from hundreds of audiences and
sponsors.

Hold in high regard.

Quan trọng = indiposable

Secondly, there still(s) exists an anchoring bias that (the) entertainment industry does not require
academic skills and years of formal education. Although it is true that some do make rumours or
dramas to be famous and facilitate their career, the industry is getting more professional and
competitive. In fact, the proportion of junior stars becoming well-known is much lower than the
rate of employment among college graduates. Not only does they need natural talents but also
they have to attend specific centers from an early age and give up personal life, youth and
opportunity for a reliable future.

Thirdly, (it is rumoured/usually reported that) entertainers receive higher payments compared to
doctors, engineers, teachers, etc. For instance, in Vietnam, an average singer can make up to
1,500 dollars per night while it takes a high school teacher with 10 years of experience 2 months
to acquire this amount of money. As a result, many (concerns) are concerned that the promising
future as entertainers might distract/discourage students from school learning and affect their
decision on future career/occupancy. However, I personally have an opposite opinion that every
person has his own right to pursue whatever job he desires and every job, whether a TV star or a
scientist, should be treated equally with respect. Based on the law of the market, anyone at any
fields can receive fruitful amount of money and prestige when they become the leading expert
and provide proven benefit.

In conclusion, although there are disagruments disagreements on how much money celebrities
(make) should be making, I believe that they have earned what they deserved due to their talent
and contribution. Lastly, every career should be publicly recognised and provide a substantial
living for whom has dared to pursue it.
