ESSAY Regulations and priorities may vary greatly according to company/from company to company, which act as a (reflective) mirror for the organistion’s work culture and core values. While some (companies) encourage their employees to dress smartly, I would argue that it is better to put an emphasis/ emphasize on more realistic aspects such as staff’s quality quality of staff, discipline and work outcome. In this paper, I shall attempt to elaborate/explore both views and settle down the controversy. First and foremost, a common ground should be established regardless of the firm’s distinctive nature/essence, which would serve as a basis for further debate. It is widely accepted that all corporations value profit, although not necessarily be in terms of monetary motivation, so entrepreneurs will adopt and pursue certain strategies as long as they prove to be benefical. On one hand, companies favoring appearance often involve interaction with clients and public audiences such as marketing agencies, sports and fashion brands or real estate brokers. For instance, wearing white shirts and dark suits have long been considered to be a symbol of professionalism and helps an organisation gain more reputation and reliability. Moreover, good- looking employees have a tendency to develop self-confidence and take the initiative in at work. In any case, there is a shared interest for all members of the organisation. On the other hand, many entrepreneurs attribute their success to improvements in internal activities. Particularly, business is a collective endeavor which requires/involve numerous factors such as inside talent, members’ contribution, effective management and sometimes luck. Japan can be taken for example as some experts claimed that its economic boom in the latter half of the 21st century is due to countless effort from hard-working and disciplinary Japanese people. Moreover, the market is a battlefield where companies compete for surviability and profit by offering desirable products at attractive prices. Therefore, the ultimate goal of this mindset is how to maximize the profit and maintain quality of service while cutting down on expenses and prices. However, by this degree, outward image may not promise any practical gain as such. In conclusion, despite having positive impacts on an organisation, good appearance alone may not be the deciding factor to the overall success. I fundemantally agree with the idea that business managers should focus on quality of work.
