RAMA VIII Bridge of Thailand

Project Description

The project, located in Bangkok and across the Chao Phraya River, is an

asymmetric single pylon three cable planes reinforced concrete composite beam

cable-stayed bridge. The main tower is herringbone with the height of 175 m, and

the structure is reinforced concrete structure, bridge width of the main road is

29.3m, the length of main bridge is 475 m, main span is 300m, anchor span and

back span are 175 m, the total length of the bridge is 2,480m.

The project commenced on December, 1998, and completed in July, 2002,

officially opened to traffic on Sep.20, 2002.
