Lab Set-up Examination (Final)

Course Code: EEE 2202 Marks: 30 Time: 2 hours 15 minutes

Submission should be done within the mentioned time. Construct the following circuits using
a simulation software of your choice/comfort. Where necessary,

Use DC values:
R1=15, R2=2Ω, R3=8Ω, R4=4Ω, R5=5Ω, R6=1Ω, R7=12Ω, R8=7Ω, V1=17V, V2=15V, I1=8A, I2=10A.
Use AC values:
V1= Amplitude 7V, Frequency 45Hz.

Group 1
1. Simulate the following circuit and find the voltage and current of R2 and R5 resistors.

2. Calculate the voltage and current of R5 using Superposition Theorem. Show details
calculation and match them with values found from simulation.
3. Discuss the pros of using superposition comparing to other methods for circuit analysis.

Group 2
1. Simulate the following circuit and find the voltage and current of R4 and R6 resistors.
2. Calculate the same values using Current Divider Rule. Show details calculation and match
them with values found from simulation.
3. For any of the loop in the circuit, explain your understanding of Kirchhoff’s Current Law.

Group 3
1. Simulate the circuit by inserting a source as per your wish and show the total current and
voltage in the circuit with the help of meters.

2. Measure the total resistance of the combination using simulation software.

3. Calculate the total resistance of the circuit manually (show reduction step by step). Once
you get the total resistance, calculate the voltage and current (reference: Q1) and verify
your calculation of the data found in the procedure of solving Q1.

Group 4
1. Simulate the following circuit and find the voltage and current of R3 and R5 resistors.

2. Calculate the same values using Voltage Divider Rule. Show details calculation and match
them with values found from simulation.
3. For any of the loop in the circuit, explain your understanding of Kirchhoff’s Voltage Law.
Group 5
1. Simulate the following circuit and find the voltage and current of 30Ω and 50Ω resistors.

2. Obtain the Ohm’s Law graph for 15Ω resistor by varying the supply of the circuit.
3. Calculate the voltage across the current 10Ω resistor using Ohm’s Law.

Group 6
1. Simulate the following circuit (for DC values, use V1 and R1) show the graph for input and
output.

2. Explain the change in output graph compared to the input. You can use
KVL/KCL/semiconductor characteristics to relate the two quantities.
3. In the figure if the dc source polarity is reversed, what change can be seen?
