 Incorporated new technologies to promote engagement in synchronous video conferencing classes with up to
five locations.
 Adapted classroom approaches to further the learning experiences of advanced dual-enrolled high school
students, such as through additional gamification.
 Collaborated with department colleagues to create course descriptions, learning outcomes, assessment
rubrics, and curriculum standards. Also helped build the online course shells for Composition I & II.

Presented three information sessions on how to complete the Iowa Foundation Scholarship application, including
information on required elements and common mistakes to avoid.
Teaching Consultant, Spring 2020-present
Collaborate with other teaching consultants to provide support and guidance to Iowa Western instructors to
improve the quality of teaching and learning at Iowa Western. As a committee, we planned the Fall 2020
Academy of Teaching Excellence, including choosing a theme and keynote, as well as hosting our own
workshops.
Peer Trainer for Online Classes, Summer 2020
Chosen as a leader in online teaching to provide hands-on training for peers who struggled with the move to
online education. Spent two hours each Tuesday in June helping peers create successful online classes that adhere
to Iowa Western and accessibility standards.
Faculty Liaison for Concurrent Literature Faculty, Fall 2020-present
Chosen as the liaison to literature faculty teaching concurrent enrollment classes in the high schools. Work with
high school faculty and NACEP guidelines to ensure uniformity in learning outcomes, assessment, and rigor
between courses taught in the high schools and on campus.
Facilitated Adjunct Community of Practice Series, Spring 2021
Created and facilitated a monthly series specifically for adjunct faculty at Iowa Western. The goal of the series
was to help adjunct faculty connect to each other and to provide another opportunity for professional
development.

Served on two search committees for Iowa Western. The first search committee was for the writing center’s
professional writing consultant position. The second search committee was for an English faculty member for the
Atlantic position.
