Chapter I
Introduction

Opinion or someone's opinion on something else is the form or genre of the text of the
exposition. Therefore, when identifying the elements of criticism and essays, we will find the
structure and systematics of writing the exposition text as well.
The purpose of writing criticism is to evaluate a person's work (books, essays, films,
paintings ...) to increase readers' understanding of them. Critical analysis is subjective writing
because it expresses the author's opinion or evaluation of a text. Analysis means breaking
down and studying the parts. Writing critical papers requires two steps: critical reading and
critical writing.
CHAPTER II
Discussion

Definition

Critical analysis essays require the author to write a critical evaluation of an

argument. Topics can range from analyzing modern or historical events, films, books, types
of music, and complex social and political issues. This is a form of evaluation and
observation with subjective elements. Critical analysis helps one to better understand the
subject and enables one to examine controversial viewpoints.
The main purpose of a critical analysis essay is to tell the reader about a subject, and
explain its purpose and meaning. You will also need to present your personal point of view
and analyze the subject critically.
Because critical analysis is so subjective, it is important to avoid some common
mistakes. First and foremost, keep your tone formal and academic. Stay away from
familiarity and slang. Second, critical analysis is primarily your own opinion on what other
people's work can support. Don't base your entire essay on the work of other scholars. If you
do use supporting evidence from other sources, make sure you refer to it to avoid plagiarism.
Next, make sure you focus on the analysis of the subject, not the description. In a critical
analysis essay, it is your opinion on the problem, not the problem itself, that is interesting.
Lastly, make sure you follow a good structure and make sure you have enough evidence.
Review the logical order of your arguments to make sure that you are presenting them to the
reader correctly.
It's easy to confuse descriptive essays with critical analysis essays. Descriptive essays
simply state what the subject is, or when and how an event occurred. On the other hand, a
critical analysis essay explains the importance of the subject and your personal point of view
on the matter. It delves deep into the subject and shows its complexity. Instead of just
describing, critical analysis essays evaluate problems in different contexts and points of view.
Reasoning and argumentation are the best approaches to distinguish critical analysis essays
from descriptive essays.
How to Write a Critical Analysis

First of all, carefully read all the sources you will use to support your opinion. Most
likely, you already have a strong opinion on your critical analysis essay problem, however,
look at the problem from multiple perspectives to be more objective and open-minded. When
reading other people's work on the subject, identify their thesis and include it carefully as
supporting evidence for your main argument.
Presenting other people's opinions shows you as a caring writer. Think carefully about
your responses and reactions to the subject of your essay. Make sure your opinion doesn't
offend anyone who might be reading your essay and make sure you take into account the
different backgrounds and experiences other people may have.
Next, draft your essay. Start by including an overview of your subject and its main
points, and draw your readers to your thesis statement. Every paragraph of your body should
have a new point for your analysis. The essence of each paragraph must be fair; avoid
extreme bias and unconventional needs to prove your arguments effectively.
Finally, your conclusion should repeat each point you have made and restate your
opinion in its entirety. Without further ado, let's learn how to write a step-by-step critical
analysis essay.
Step 1: Critical Reading
The first step for critical analysis is reading carefully and thoroughly, identifying the
author's thesis. Most of your information will come from reading different sources and
understanding different opinions and opinions on the same issue. You must pay attention to
details, recognize the author's rhetorical devices, biases, and assumptions.
As a critical reader, your job is to determine the author's motives and dissect the text
to find out its meaning. Understanding how writers try to achieve their goals and earn your
trust is at the heart of critical reading.
Step 2: Writing Critical Analysis
The first thing to remember is that your job is not to legitimize this author's work.
Your post is to serve readers by exploring their joint work, exposing neglected or neglected
aspects. It is your job to help the world fully understand this subject.
Summarize
The first thing to do is to provide a summary of your sources (events, articles,
artwork, etc.). This is done to show that you fully understand what you are talking about. The
summary should not contain your arguments or show any bias towards the sources you are
discussing.
