1) The document describes using task-based learning to teach a poem by William Wordsworth called "Daffodils" to English students at the SSC level in Pakistan.
2) Some proposed tasks include having students research the Romantic period, do a lexical analysis of the poem, find rhyming words/schemes, and translate the poem to Urdu.
3) Task-based learning is compared to other methods and argued to be more student-centered and balanced between teacher and student talking time, making it an effective approach for language learning.

Q: Select a topic from English subject at SSC level and describe all possibilities to
practically teach it with planned activities. Moreover, compare the merits of
selected method with other methodologies. Actually, task or activities are given to the student to enhance and authenticate their learning and make teaching more effective and everlasting so that the students may grasp the things taught to them fully with complete or full zeal and zest. Activities or tasks are also assigned to the students to fulfil their information and reasoning gaps. In such sort of teaching and learning groups are formed and tasks are assigned before giving basis knowledge related to the task and then after taking task students or learners work on that making plans and getting information and then present before the class or teachers. Task is evaluated by the teacher and then teacher gives feedback, if some flaws are found task may be repeated and then finalized saying ok by the teacher. For matric level student of English language class, I would like and feel good to suggest a task to critically analyse “Daffodils” a poem by the great nature loving poet of Romantic Age in English Literature William Wordsworth to learn by the student and teach by the teacher. Activities. Get information regarding Romantic Age of English Literature, their philosophy, use of language, style of addressing people, types of themes, use of nature and many more information that makes to grip the theme and language of the poem. Second activity can be to have lexical analysis of the poem. For example, word choices of the poet, words talking about nature, use of verbs, nouns or functional words etc. Third activity can be to find out rhyming words or assonance, alliteration that make the poem musical and song like. Recitation of the poem before class in fluent English accent or tone can be another activity for the class that speeds up their interest to learn the poem easily. In such classes where we have blended mediums of teaching like two languages are being used as the medium of instruction, translation of the poem into Urdu can be very powerful, effective and cherishing task for the students or learners. Now, the question arises why this task-based language teaching method has been adopted by the teacher or why I suggested this method of teaching. So, the answer of this sort of curiosity can be and easy and to the point comparison and contrast of the methods and approaches of teaching and learning with this said method. We have many other approaches and methods of teaching ad learning that are given below;
The Oral Approach and Situational Language Teaching
The Audiolingual Method Total Physical Response The Silent Way Community Language Learning Suggestopedia Whole Language Multiple Intelligences Neurolinguistic Programming The lexical approach Competency-Based Language Teaching Communicative Language Teaching Cooperative Language Learning Content-Based Instruction Task-Based Language Teaching All the above said approaches are effective and have time to time been used in the class rooms to teach the learner the escalated their learning but for me the most effective method is the last mention task-based language teaching approach. My choice for this method can have different reasons that are enlisted as following. This method of teaching is more student center as compare to other which are mostly teachers centered and focus on teacher making him more authoritative and dominant in the class, this bossy style of teacher hinders the learning of the learners and teacher takes more time than student in the class that badly impacts teacher talk time TTT and student talk time STT. The balance between TTT and STT makes an ideal class for conducive learning of language in particular and learning in general. In TBLT students take more time to get information and in thinking by sharing their knowledge and views and opinions with other group fellow and afterwards with the whole class. As a conclusion it can be said that Task Based Language Teaching strategy is more interesting, students centered and influential for learning at all levels but at SSC level in particular.
