1. ) Henri Matisse was a revolutionary and influential artist of the early 20th century, best
known for the expressive color and form of his Fauvist style. Henri Matisse was born on
December 31, 1869, and was raised in the small industrial town of Bohain-en-Vermandois in
northern France.. His family worked in the grain business. As a young man, Matisse worked as a
legal clerk and then studied for a law degree in Paris from 1887 to 1889. Returning to a position
in a law office in the town of Saint-Quentin, he began taking a drawing class in the mornings
before he went to work. When he was 21, Matisse began painting while recuperating from an
illness, and his vocation as an artist was confirmed. In 1891, Matisse moved to Paris for artistic
training. He took instruction from famous, older artists at well-known schools such as the
Académie Julian and the École des Beaux-Arts.

2. ) His art evolved During the early 1900s, Matisse travelled to various parts of the world to
study, including Algeria where he learn about African Art and Primitivism, Spain to spend two
months studying Moorish art, and then Morocco. The effect on Matisse’s art from those
adventures was a new boldness through his use of intense, modulate color, particularly the
addition of black to his palette.. Matisse developed the new art form using paper and scissors.
With the help of his assistants, he began creating cut-paper collages, also known as
decoupage. Matisse would cut sheets of paper, pre-painted with gouache by his assistants,
into shapes of varying colors and sizes and then arrange them to form vibrant compositions.
Matisse began producing works outside of his initial cut-out project, which soon led to mural-
sized works.
3.) This quote of Matisse "The public is against you, but the future is yours" emphasizes
perseverance, determination and courage that whenever a lot of people pulls you down and
criticize you, still you have that confidence within you that makes you even more focused on
the things that brings positiveness and survival keys to deal or to cope with that certain
situation.
Surely, there were times where you can experience a self-doubt towards your inner ability
because of some negative feedback that you might receive from those people that surrounds
you. It's just like having that eagerness to continue things that you've been started and
achieving goals that you've been aiming for. Therefore, being dedicated and passionate on the
things that suits you most are very vital throughout your progress, that despite of taking a
majority response, you just eagerly pursue your dreams instead and keep chasing for success.
You just need to be yourself for a better future. You don't need to meet the expectations of
anybody else just for their own satisfaction but simply prove them what you've got and stay
focused on creating your own masterpiece, that’s why Matisse become successful because he
really true to his Art Work..
