The Geocentric Model by Claudius

Ptolemy

Claudius Ptolemy discovered that

the Earth was the center of the
universe and called it the Geocentric
Model. He has propounded
geocentric, or Earth-centered, and
model of universe. He believes that in
the center, there is the Earth with all
the planets and stars at fixed
positions within eight concentric
spheres that spun in circles called
orbits. Ptolemy first has mentioned
that the Earth did not move and was
located at the center of the universe.

The Heliocentric Model by Nicolaus

Copernicus

Nicolaus Copernicus superseded

the idea of Ptolemy about the
geocentric model and developed his
idea that the Sun is at rest near the
center of the Universe, and that the
Earth, spinning on its axis once daily,
revolves annually around the Sun
and later called it the Heliocentric
Model.

2.
Theory of Evolution by Charles Darwin

Charles Darwin’s theory of Evolution

describes new organism change
overtime, as a result of changes
inheritable physical or behavioral
traits. His theory of evolution has two
main points, First is all life on earth is
connected and related to each other,
Second, the diversity of life came
about because of the modification in
population that were driven by natural
selection. Natural selection , is often
described as “Survival of The Fittest” ,
where fittest refers to the ability to
survive and reproduce..

Sigmund Freud and his View of the

Human Mind “The Mental Iceberg”

Sigmund Freud developed his view of

the human mind and called it “The
Mental Iceberg”. He believed that
behavior and personality were derived
from the constant and unique
interaction of conflicting psychological
forces that operate at three different
levels of awareness: the
preconscious, conscious,
and unconscious. He believed that
each of these parts of the mind plays
an important role in influencing
behavior.
