71 - (PW11) - POWER PLANT

@Inlet Cowl- The inner skin forms the engine inlet and acoustic treatment. The inlet cowl is secured to
the engine fan case. The outer barrel is a two piece carbon epoxy assembly extending from the aluminum
inlet lip skin interface to the leading edge of the fan cowl.
- The five piece segmented forward bulkhead and three-piece segmented aft vbulkhead provide impact
protection and structural support for the inlet assembly.

-The maximum engine seal leakage limits for external oil/fuel system components during engine
operation and after shutdown as per mention below:

@ Starter operational limits

(a) The starter duty cycle is as follows:
1 Three start attempts
2 35 seconds cooling period between each start attempt
3 15 minutes cumulative cranking
4 Followed by 15 minutes minimum period when N2 speed is zero (0) RPM.
- NOTE: The Electronic Engine Control (EEC) will automatically command the Starter Air
Valve (SAV) closed after 15 minutes to ensure the starter duty cycle is not exceed.

(b) The extended starter duty cycle is as follows:

1 15 minutes maximum continuous cranking
2 Followed by 15 minutes minimum period when N2 speed is zero (0) RPM.
- NOTE: The EEC will automatically command the SAV closed after 15 minutes to ensure the
starter duty cycle is not exceed.

@ NACELLE HARNESS - The IDG-EDP monitoring harness is installed around the engine and
goes up to the pylon interface, where it connects with the electrical system of the aircraft. The harness
supplies control signals to the IDG and to the EDP.On the left side of the engine,
the harness is attached to the IDG. In addition, one branch of the harness connects to the low oil pressure
switch. On the right side of the engine, the harness is connected to the EDP.

@ AIR INTAKE COWL- It gives direction to the airflow to the engine fan and helps to make
the airflow smooth and approximately equal pressure across the inlet area. It also absorbs noise from the
engine fan. It has an Engine Anti-Ice (EAI) system to prevent ice from collecting on the inlet lip. A total
temperature (T2) probe is in the inner barrel.
-The inlet cowl assembly has four primary components: the inlet lip, the outer barrel, the inner barrel and
the aft bulkhead.
