City buses:
The regular city bus covers nearly all areas of Bangkok. Routes could be determined from most city
maps for sale or by calling the Bangkok Transport Office.
The air- conditioned buses shares similar routes with the regular buses, but provides a more
comfortable shelter from the Bangkok heat. Fare depends upon distance, usually determined by the bus
conductor.
Provincial buses:
Thailand’s very good highway system encourages travelling by road. There are air-conditioned or
open-air buses.
For trips to Chiangmai and nearby areas, go to the Bangkok’s Northern and Northeastern Bus
Terminal on Phaholyothin Road. The Eastern Bus Terminal is on Sukhumvit Road. The buses go to
Pattaya, Rayong and other eastern provinces. The Southern Bus Terminal is on Pinklao-Nakhon Chaisri
