Job analysis for Lead Web Developer

Description:

We are looking for a skilled web developer that will lead teams in various projects in our company.
You will be responsible for developing and/or overlooking the designing of various websites for our
company. You will be working alongside other team leads, therefore collaborative/people skills are a
must.

In order to succeed in this role, you are expected to be proficient in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and have
solid knowledge and experience in programming applications. As mentioned, you are also expected
to have led/worked with teams in the past. You will spend about 75% of your time in office and the
other 25% on road making presentations to customers and other company executives.

Division: IT – Web Development
Pay Grade: Level III (Base + Commission)

Job Responsibilities:

1. Website and software application designing, building, or maintaining.


2. Using scripting or authoring languages, management tools, content creation tools,
applications, and digital media.
3. Conferring with teams to resolve conflicts, prioritize needs, develop content criteria, or
choose solutions.
4. Directing or performing Website updates.
5. Developing or validating test routines and schedules to ensure that test cases mimic external
interfaces and address all browser and device types.
6. Editing, writing, or designing Website content, and directing team members who produce
content.
7. Maintaining an understanding of the latest Web applications and programming practices
through education, study, and participation in conferences, workshops, and groups.
8. Back up files from Web sites to local directories for recovery.
9. Identifying problems uncovered by customer feedback and testing, and correcting or referring
problems to appropriate personnel for correction.
10. Evaluating code to ensure it meets industry standards, is valid, is properly structured, and is
compatible with browsers, devices, or operating systems.
11. Determining user needs by analyzing technical requirements.

Most of the mentioned points will be delegated to team members as you are the team lead, but it is
still expected that you have clear idea of it.

Job Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Web development or related field, or relevant experience.


2. Solid knowledge and experience in programming applications.
3. Proficient in JavaScript, HTML, CSS.
4. Proficient in My SQL.
5. Dedicated team player.
6. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
7. Solid ability in both written and verbal communication.

Note: At Google, College degree is not a mandatory requirement, but a plus. Your experience in the
related field/past projects have the upper hand in overriding the college degree points.
