Executive Diploma in Public Health Nutrition

Executive Diploma in Public Health Nutrition offers knowledge and skill up gradation
among students/healthcare professionals as dietitians/doctors/public health
professionals to deal with health and nutritional problems in masses. They will get a
deeper insight of designing, planning, evaluating and monitoring Government based
nutrition policies. This will help students to work closely with nutrition programmes in
community setting.

Centre for Nutrition and Dietetics Studies (CNDS), IGMPI has designed the course with
a focus on practical approach related to issues of major health and socio-economic
concern in order to develop successful public health services. Students will have the
chance to work on various case studies after completing all the modules in order to
strengthen their hold for field work.

The objective of this course is to demonstrate an understanding of the political,


institutional, social and scientific influences on Public Health Nutrition and to translate
research into practice through successful implementation and management of
nutritional policies/programmes.

On completion of this course students will be able to gain better insight to prevailing
nutritional polices/programmes like Mid-Day Meal, Janani Suraksha Yojana and many
more. Students will be able to apply research methods, including epidemiology.

The course has been designed for professionals and students aspiring to work in the
field of public health or research projects of Government.

Eligibility

Graduation in Science/Nutrition Science/Food and Nutrition/Pharma/Medical/Food


Science & Technology/Related disciplines & Candidates appearing for the final year of
Bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification exam or awaiting their results, are eligible to
apply.

Programme Duration

Minimum time in which a student can complete this Executive Diploma course is six
months while a maximum of one year is allowed to complete the course.

Registration

The registration dates for this bi-annual Executive Diploma programme run by the
Institute are updated timely on the webpage. Effective E-learning tools incorporated
into the design of the webpage make the course lectures, online live classes and study
material easily accessible. This gives a huge window of self-regulated and self-paced
performance to the participants.

Programme Deliverables

A comprehensive study material for all the modules in hard copies ensuring the needs of
the audience. The accompanying training material is appropriately aligned with the
current Industry’s expectations.

 Online classes for all the modules will be conducted on the weekends. Moreover,
a doubt clearing session will also be scheduled before the examination.

programme modules easily understandable.
 Assessment and evaluation for all the programme modules in order to enhance
the levels of competencies and skills of the participants leading towards the
objective of application in the job.
 At the end of each programme modules, the trainers shall obtain feedback from
the participants using specially designed questionnaires.
 All learning and training delivery initiatives shall be conducted in English.

Examination & Certification

CNDS, IGMPI follows a credit system based on all learning activities involved in
studying for all PG Diploma, Executive Diploma and Certificate Programmes. Each of
your modules is equal to 4 credits. To successfully complete the programme, you will
have to earn all the credits assigned to your programme.

All the participants are obliged to timely submit completed assessment assignments
(during the course, usually after every module) and appear for an online exam at the end
of the course. After successful completion, the participants will be awarded Executive
Diploma in Public Health Nutrition by Centre of Nutrition and Dietetics Studies
(CNDS), IGMPI. For all the above-mentioned modules elaborate course material, self-
assessment assignments and project work details would be provided by the Institute
