Formulate research title followed by background, research problem, objectives, test hypothesis
and research questions.

Title
Challenges on water sources (river valley) management especial on the community surrounding.
(Case study focus on msimbazi river in Dar es salaam)
Back ground
The rivers are the common natural resources which is used with our community to perform the
different land activities, such of those activities are like fishing, agriculture especial irrigation
application along the river and domestic use for clean water, also there is a quarry activity that
take place along the river like sand and stone quarrying. River valley is tickled with the different
challenges in managing on how to introduce the rule and regulations to the users for the aim of
prevent the catchment rivers source as well as to solve the problem of dumping waste to the river
source by establishing the good relationship between individual and related collective authority.
The involvement of the community toward decision making concerning with environmental
issues is very important in order to understand their problem, needs, their interest as well as
potentials, also are the one who are familiar with the respective area. (Howell, D., Olsen, M. E.,
& Olsen, D. (1987).).
The existence of the Msimbazi River in Dar es Salaam leads to a significant increase in
population and influence the various social activities to take place along the river, so they may
lead to the environmental problem.
Due to the occurrence of these activities face the river to damage, is very important to involves
the communities and the stakeholders in the whole issue of managing ecosystem, conservation
and interrogation of the river by establishing law and procedure that will enable the community
to take the care of the environmental to avoid various effect on the community like flood and
outbreak sod diseases.
Research objective
the importance of doing or looking to the challenges on the river valley management on the
community surrounding is goes hand to hand with doing the following
 To identify all activities that take place in the Msimbazi River by looking at all activities
that are harmful to the community and that are harmless
 To identify the people who affected with those activities take place along the river
 To identify the community waste collection point
 Looking for the positive measure that will come up with a solution in which will be able
to improve and manage the Msimbazi River.
 Also goes together with engaging actor and stakeholders in ensuring well implementation
of these measure in order to conserve the environment.

Formulation of hypothesis
H1: There is a relationship between the economic activities with the distraction of the water
sources.
H2: There is a connection between the development within the communities with the activities
that take place along the Msimbazi River.
H2: Methodologies that will be used to collect the information and data in the area of study.
There for, based on the research looking for the management of the water resources is still the
big problem in our communities, but the data and information that I collect from the river area
will be used to assist both the local government and the central government in developing the
strategies and measure that will help in reducing the challenges of managing the water resources.

Research questions
in order to make successful and archived research objective we have to answer the following
question;
 what activities take place along the Msimbazi River?
 Which one is affected with the with those activities take place along the Msimbazi River?
 Where majority of people live along the river dump their waste?
 What measures taken to ensure the well management of the Msimbazi River?
 Who the actors involve during the implementation and its role?
