MUSIC VI
INTRODUCTORY:
B. Texture is the thinness or thickness of sound. It refers to the combination of melody, harmony and rhythm
of a given piece. In other words, it is how the melodic, rhythmic, and harmonic materials are combined in a
composition, thus determining the overall quality of the sound in a musical piece. A thick texture contains
many “layers” of voices or instruments. A certain musical piece may have a thin or thick texture.
Two types of texture:
Vocal texture refers to the type of different musical “voices” in a piece of music. This includes
categories like monophonic, polyphonic and homophonic. Solo singing has thin texture while singing
with a partner or group and accompaniment has thick texture.
Instrumental texture means the overall sound created by multiple instruments in music. It is the
combined timbre of a group of instruments. Playing a solo instrument has a thin instrumental texture
while an instrumental ensemble creates a thick instrumental texture as it is composed of several
instruments sounded and played together.

ARTS VI
INTRODUCTORY:
DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY is now widely used in today’s 21st century where even arts and sculpturing
evolves through the use of computer softwares. Blend computer software is one good example of a program
where we can use to create 3D designs for products, animations and many others which is part of what you
will learn in this activity sheet.
Nowadays, you can digitally enhance the drawing and printing out of the design elements with the
help of modern technology. Product designing is enhanced through knowledge of social, technological and
economic factors. Today, you are going to create an actual 3-D digitally-enhanced product design for a paper
bag.
I.Direction: Show your understanding of the concepts on the use of software by answering the questions
below.

HEALTH VI
INTRODUCTORY:
CONSUMER HEALTH will help you become a wiser consumer. You will be able to make wise and
informed decisions when purchasing products or availing services. Aside from protection from fraud and
malpractice, you will also have the ability to differentiate valid health information from myths and
misconceptions.
THE THREE COMPONENTS OF CONSUMER HEALTH
Health information has to do with health, fitness, medicines, treatments, and services, and
individuals or groups in the health profession. There are various sources of health information
including newspapers, magazines, product labels, posters, radio announcements, television shows
and commercials
Health product is any product, substance, material and equipment designed, produced,
manufactured, and distributed to markets, then bought and consumed by consumers for the
maintenance of health and treatment or cure of diseases, disorders, and other health problems.
Examples of health products are food, medicines and drugs, cosmetics, and electronic and digital
devices.
Health services are clinical services, hospital care, therapeutic service, treatment and care performed by
medical and allied health professionals, and financial assistance from health maintenance organizations
(HMO).
Over the counter (OTC) Medicine Over-the-counter medicine is also known as OTC or non-prescription
medicine. All these terms refer to medicine that you can buy without a prescription. They are safe and
effective when you follow the directions on the label and as directed by your health care professional. These
are usually taken by the consumers to relieve minor symptoms like fever, cough and colds.
A prescription medicine is any medicine that needs your doctor or other prescribers’ authorization before the
pharmacist can supply it to you. A prescription is a written permission. These medicines are prescribed or
recommended for specific reason for a particular person or patient. A pharmacist will read the prescription and
give the medicine you need. This is the reason why you can not use or share your medicine to anyone else
even you have same symptoms or same illness. \
