RESEARCH PART 1
“Snapdragons as an Alternate Ink for Markers”
A. BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
Markers play a significant part in literature and crafting. It was intended to generate
several enduring texts on things with massive artistic and hands-on potentials. Apart from
its usage in literature, it is also castoff in classifications, artworks, and inscriptions. A lot
of users are not aware that markers have limitations also as it has infinite usages.
Typically, it is delinquent for artists and calligraphists to source ink for the markers they
are consuming.

Naturally, the inks used in most ink markers are made from artificial constituents like the
fuel and biochemical thinners. These types of resources are dangerous particularly to the
well-being of the handlers and to the environment. In our present time today, nearly all
artefact has been marketed and people pursued for products that are more ordinary and
economical alternatively.

The Snapdragons or Antirrhinum can be an alternative component for ink. The

snapdragons are genus plants commonly known as dragon flowers and it is instinctive to
rock-strewn areas of North Africa, North America, and Europe. Snapdragons are
typically brief perennial plants, yet some types are annuals. It is also considered as one of
the popular garden plants and is commonly used in the floral industry.

The conception of ink with alternative component to be marketed is a mandate for all the
users like the calligraphist and painters. The researcher reflects that the Snapdragons has
boundless abilities in partaking as an alternative ink for markers due to its various
colorings ranging from pale shades to darker shades. The researcher also verified its
efficiency as a constituent for ink markers.

B. STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

This study is aimed to answer the following questions:
1. Is there a substantial disparity among the Snapdragons ink and the typical ink in
conditions of Pigment, Scent, and Concentration?
2. What is the suitability of the Snapdragons alternative ink in terms of:
a. Scent
b. Pigment
c. Concentration
3. Is the Snapdragons alternative ink efficient in terms of the subsequent:
a. Concentration
b. Stick Stability
c. Pigment

C. OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY

The following are the objectives of the study:
1. To know the effectiveness of Snapdragons as an alternative use for markers.
2. To determine the benefits of Snapdragons as an alternative ink source.

3. To examine the dependent variables (such as the pigment, concentration, and scent) of
the Snapdragons.
D. SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY
This study is significant to the following:
Users. This study would be valuable to the users of ink markers. This study presents
several benefits like having an economical and easy to find alternative source of ink for
markers.
Environment. This study will help prevent the leaching of toxic chemicals from markers
into the natural environment.
Other researchers. This will benefit other researchers as it will provide supplementary
knowledge and fact-based notions for their review of related literature.

E. SCOPE AND LIMITATIONS

This study focuses on the Snapdragons as an Alternate Ink for Markers. This aims to
recommend the use of snapdragons as an alternative ink for markers by introducing its
usefulness. Additionally, this paper supports the use of Snapdragons Extract as it is
accessible, low-cost, and can be found anywhere. This study also only examines the
abstract of the snapdragons.

The experimentation will be performed on the researcher’s home on Makati City. For the
research apparatus during the experimentation, the researcher will be using the necessary
equipment needed in doing the research. The researcher intends for the experimentation to
end within one (1) week. As for the collection of data, the researcher will carry out a
survey after the experiment as the dependent variables are deemed as qualitative data. The
respondents will be the friends and family members of the researcher. The total number of
respondents will be 10.

F. HYPOTHESIS
The researcher speculated that using snapdragon as an alternative ink would lessen your
expenditures because it is accessible, low-cost, and can be found anywhere. It cannot be
only used as an alternative ink for markers but is known to plasters on skin cancers and
ulcers. The used plant source can also be used as an anti-inflammatory and stimulant.
Contrasting to industrial ink markers, snapdragons can stimulate safety to the
environment.
