ANSWER:
(PRELIM)
As a result of the COVID-19 epidemic, the globe is facing an unexpected global
health, social, and economic crises. Travel and tourism are one of the worst-affected industries, with a sharp drop in worldwide demand as a result of worldwide travel restrictions, including the closure of several borders to control the virus. To combat the spread of the coronavirus, countries all around the world-imposed travel restrictions. Airline closures, entering and outgoing aircraft suspensions, and countrywide lockdowns are just a few of the steps that nations are taking to help control the epidemic. From tour operator, travel agent up to the traveler we are all affect by this pandemic. The real challenge for the tourism sector is how to regain travelers’ trust and make them want to come and visit us. The Secretary-General of UNWTO said “trust is the new currency of our ‘new normal’. If people trust in governments and in the tourism sector to keep them safe from harm, they will indeed travel tomorrow.” The lessons learned during this pandemic will make us better travelers and choose better places. The countries that are least damaged or recover the fastest will most likely be the first to attract tourists. Travelers are likely to be lured to less congested areas, more off-the-beaten-path destinations, closer to nature, and unique experiences. There may be a shift in their purchasing decision, location preference, and even the amount of money they are prepared to spend. (FINALS)
Another thing that is affected by covid 19 is the attractions and activities.
The tourism industry was one of the world's greatest markets; until the world met a pandemic in the 21st century, COVID-19. The results reveal that the tourism sector is easily affected by global crises. It is almost the same day that travelers decide to cancel or delay their trips, with the spread of the news. If the road is empty of disease, violence, and disasters, traveling is the most enjoyable method to meet others and see new locations. Tourism is one of the most directly affected sectors in this current crisis. The closure of tourism sites and attractions, the cancellation or postponement of major festivals and events, and restrictions on public gatherings (indoor and outdoor) in many countries, the impact of COVID-19 on global tourism has been overwhelming and immediate. From accommodation and food services to attractions, activities and events. But tourism industry has its own new normal to adopt in the current situation. Hygiene, sanitation, washing of hands, social distancing, face mask, temperature check and quarantine are all the buzzwords that constitute our new normal. The new normal imposes on each one of us to take health a lot more seriously, with the ultimate focus on hygiene and sanitation and to be responsible to ourselves and to others. Certainly, this pandemic made us realize the basic importance of taking care of ourselves, our home and our community.
