VOSOCO YOUTH ACADEMY BACKGROUND SUMMARY

VOSOCO YOUTH ACADEMY has been established on February 2020 and is recognized as
only one of the largest non-profit association football clubs in Somalia.

VOSOCO mainly focuses on young people, who are disadvantaged geographically,

environmentally, socially, personally and academically who have a negative attitude towards
learning as well as those being at risk of engaging illegal immigration and drug abuse.

The ministry of sports had recognized VOSOCO as the first organization with a modern
impression of promoting youth’s abilities.

VOSOCO has committed the youth and ousted them from the idleness and motivated the youth
to have a good future.

The organization has also committed to personal development and positive progression of our
young people in our community.

VOSOCO has conducted various meetings about youth empowerment, Female genital

Mutilation, Gender-based violence for the youth both male and female gathered from different
districts in Banadir region.

The organization has also closely engaged almost all the offices of your administration with
several other projects that we have conducted within the region during the COVID- 19 response.

VOSOCO would also like to have an effective collaboration with the ministry and have a reliable
connection in the future to collectively impact the lives of the youth in the country.

With this in mind that VOSOCO brings Somali youth together in order to stimulate coherence
between them. Young Somalis can use sport as a means to channel their energy into something
positive and worthwhile.
