 1. INTRODUCTION
Somalia is situated in the Horn of Africa.

Twenty years of conflict have led to conditions

of abject poverty in the country with the
destruction of infrastructure, economy and
institutions.

Somalia is one of the poorest countries in the

world, with the 2012 Human Development
Index putting it among the 5 least-developed of
170 countries.

The poverty rate is currently 73%.

For this reason, many Somali youth face

insecurity, radicalization and extremism, forced
irregular migration, lack of quality education
and vocational training, health services, etc.
 2. About VOSOCO Youth Academy
1. VOSOCO was established in 2020 .

2. It is recognized as one of the largest non-profit association

football clubs in Somalia with membership exceeding 24
players.

3. VOSOCO mainly focuses on young people, who are

disadvantaged geographically, environmentally, socially,
personally and academically who have a negative attitude
towards learning as well as those being at risk of engaging
illegal immigration and drug abuse.

4. VOSOCO has mainly drawn its membership players from

across the Somali community, through local schools, catering
for youth aged 14-16 years old

5. We are the only football academy in Somalia

that is registered with the Somali Ministry of
Youth and Sports and the Somali Football
Federation.

6. Our academy produces well-disciplined

talented youth who are now devoted to football
and have potential dream to be the next African
soccer giants like Mo Salah and Sadio Mane.

3. What do we do?
VOSOCO Youth Academy brings Somali youth together in order to stimulate
coherence between them. Young Somalis can use sport as a means to
channel their energy into something positive and worthwhile.

In March 2020,Vosoco youth academy started a selection campaign of

players at the sand beaches of the capital Mogadishu.

manage their time effectively, to be hardworking and disciplined.

We encourage our youth mentally, physically, emotionally and academically

so that they are able to unlock their full potential.

We hire coaches to mentor and instill discipline so that they may grow up to
be responsible individuals.

At the VOSOCO Youth Academy, we are a family and together we nurture

We are also keen on increasing their knowledge and intelligence and thus
we have tutors to assist with their academics.

The VOSOCO Youth Academy has been committed to personal

development and positive progression of our young people in our
community.

VOSOCO Youth Academy is committed in the fight against Female

genital mutilation and Gender-based violence and has organized
several workshops in the Banadir region to educate people on their
effects. The organization has also closely engaged in rapid COVID-19
response with administrative offices.

We are committed towards encouraging our youths and thus we hold

awarding ceremonies to appreciate the strides they take towards
their personal growth.

VOSOCO Youth Academy is currently pursuing an effective

collaboration with the Somali Ministry of Sports in order to build a
reliable connection in the future to collectively impact the lives of the
youth in the Somalia.
4. The VOSOCO Experience
 5. ABOUT THE PROJECT

We would like to propose a 4-year sponsorship where together we will provide material and financial assistance in
running the academy thus giving hope to more talented children:
Training material and coaches: football boots, jerseys and training kits for various sports, cones, soccer hose (socks),
shin guards, footballs, first aid medical facilities, nets, and all other sports equipment and materials.
Mentorship and professional training: We need to hire professional coaches and mentors to train them not only
physically but also mentally, academically and socially.
Transport and accommodation: To help VOSOCO to transport the young players to both international and local
soccer tournaments. We would like the team to attend several international soccer tournaments by the end of 2023.
This is to expose them to renown soccer scouts all over Europe.
Education: we need to facilitate their academics and mentorship. By doing this, we will not only be nurturing soccer
professionals but also intelligent adults who will make a difference in the world.
For the project to achieve its intended purpose, the VOSOCO Youth Academy will require $4,000 a month which equates
to $48,000 annually.
 6. PROJECT OBJECTIVES

With your 4-year sponsorship, this project is

going to help expose our young talents to soccer
scouts.

The financial assistance is going to help us to

source the right equipment and infrastructure to
nurture the talents of our young ones.

The sponsorship will help them participate in

international youth tournaments where they can
meet other talents and compete.

The major areas needed for sponsoring and

funding are tournament trips and participation,
educational facilities as well training grounds
and equipment.
 9. OUR VISION

 In the next five years, we will be able to

transform more lives positively.

 We would like to build a Vocational Training

Centre. Through this, we could professionally
train the young players into professional
soccer players.

 Moreover, it will allow the players to grow

academically. This will allow them to present
themselves and communicate with confidence.
This ideally prepares them for the
international soccer scene.

 Our target is to train 100 Somali youths and

prepare them for the football market in the
next two years.

The youth are our future and they need our unwavering support, to protect them from crime, drugs, radicalism,
piracy and armed groups so that they become productive and useful members of the society tomorrow.

Together, we will be able to inspire hundreds of youth to leave a mark on earth through sport as well as give them a
quality education which is their right. Through this collaboration, we will foster Somalia’s economic growth by
creating employment opportunities for Somali Youth. This project will give hope to many talented Somali youth
who are languishing in poverty.
