Parental Activity Plan: Week 2 Day Three

Date: March 25, 2020

Age: 2 yrs. old

Theme: Flowers

Objective(s): Given the right opportunity, children will be able to:


1. Count and match the numbers of flowers up 5
2. Develop fine motor skills by painting and drawing
3. Talk about the feelings of characters in the story, happy and sad

Resources:

small containers for sorting flowers, cut-out of flowers (or real flower petals),
cut of numerals 1-5 (before you begin the activity prepare the containers by
pasting or writing the numbers on the front of each container), small rocks,
paints of different colours

Activities: Circle Time

Name of Activity: Counting flowers

Activity:

Introduction: One little, two little, three little flowers, four little, five little, six
little flowers, flowers in a row (sung to the tune 5 little Indians)

1. Display the containers in a row, with the flower beside them.


2. Call out the numbers with your child, pointing to each number as you do so.
3. Encourage the children to place the correct number of flowers in each
container. After the child gets it, try mixing up the number so they are
not in order.
4. Allow the child to share how they feel about the activity.
Activities: Creative Activity

Name of Activity: Painting rocks

Activity:

1. Allow the child to paint the rock/stones with different colour paint.

2. Guide your child into drawing flowers on the rocks (commend them for
their effort regardless of what the picture looks like).

3. Place stones to dry.

Activities: Indoor/ Outdoor Play

Name of Activity: Walk the line

Activity: Draw large pictures of flowers on concrete using chalk or outlining with
tape. Sing the alphabet song while your child tries to walk around the outline of
the flower before you are finished singing (you may change the songs and variate
the speed of singing to add enjoyment).
