paper plate, glue, construction paper
Activities: Circle Time
Activity:
Make a colour sorting craft for your little one. Cut squares from scraps of
construction paper, gluing one of each colour on the top of each column (ensure
that you have a column with more than one colour based on the pictures under
resources). Allow your child to help you by pasting the colours on the columns.
The picture below shows what it should look like.
Introduction: Allow your child to sing his or her favourite song for this theme.
Example blue bird, blue, three little dickie birds etc.
Step 1. Tell your child that today he or she will be sorting birds based on
their colour. Display the sorting tray made above along with the cut out of
the different colour birds in a small container.
Step 2. Allow your child to take a picture of a bird from the container, look
at the colour and place the bird under the column that has the same colour
at the top. During this activity have a conversation with your child, which
should be aimed at reviewing all that they have done for the past weeks
about birds. Examples of questions are:
Remember do not pressure your child to answer any of the questions that you ask
correctly. Learning is fun so do this in a fun way.
