Assessment changes to Primary English as a

Second Language

A new set of Progression Tests (Stages 3 to 6) will be released with the launch of the new Primary curricula.
The new curricula will be available from September 2020, for first teaching from September 2021, and this will
provide teachers with time to become familiar with the new curricula and the assessments. To better support
teachers, Cambridge will be producing a new set of Progression Tests annually. The next set of Progression
tests will be made available in 2022 and then each year subsequently. Past papers will continue to be made
available on the website.
