Assignment 2: The Ethical Decision Making Model (15%)

Instructions:
Assignment to be completed independently.
Read the following case scenario and fill out the ethical decision making model.

Case Scenario:
You are an EA at the school board. Your primary responsibility is to work with three children
with autism in the classroom. When you are in the classroom, there are many other
professionals that come in to talk about the student’s programming. This includes the board
social works, psychologists, and occupational therapists from the local children’s treatment
centre. You have been worried because as these therapists come in, they openly talk to you
about the student’s history and their home life to accurately make their decision. In the one
case, you know that the student is struggling because of the divorce happening at home with
his parents. You have not received permission from the parents to talk about this case.
However, you feel you need to tell the psychologist this important information, as you feel it is
a large setting event of why his behaviour is occurring. The psychologist has told you that she is
going to recommend an alternate placement and medication as a result of this change in
behaviour that has been happening.
