Overview
In this practice, you will learn how to attach units/items and documents to a node.

Assumptions
 You must have access to an Oracle Application Vision database or comparable training
or test instance at your site on which to complete this practice.

 A product classification record in the draft status must exist in the database and must
have nodes defined for it.

 Items have been defined in Install base and document records have been created in the
Document Index module.

Operations

1. Navigate to the Search Product Classification user interface.

 (H) Configuration > (T) Product Classification

2. Select a product classification record in draft status. Click the corresponding Tree icon to
navigate to the Edit Product Classification page.

3. Select the first node that is created under the parent node or root node. The root node or the
first node represents the item or part that you defined. You will attach units to all nodes
created below this node.

4. Click More Details in the Update Product Classification page. Click the Units/Items
hyperlink in the Update Attached Units page.

5. In the Update Attached Units page, click Add More Rows. Select a unit/item from the Name
list of values. Click Apply to save your work.

Associating documents to a node

6. Navigate to the Search Product Classification user interface.

 (H) Configuration > (T) Product Classification


7. Select the same product classification record. Click the corresponding Tree icon to navigate
to the Edit Product Classification page.

8. Select the node to which you want to attach documents, and click More Details. In the
Update Attached Documents page, click Add More Rows. Select a document from the
document number list of values. Click Apply to save the changes to the database.

9. Click Apply to save your work.
