Intentional approach to regulation:
o Ensure consistent snack and water opportunities throughout day
o Embed proactive breaks times into daily schedule and implement
o Always look for early signs of dysregulation (see yellow and orange above) and ensuring immediate and
effective responses as per clinician recommendations
o Ensure multiple sensory items and tools visible, accessible and being utilized
o Regulation takes as long as it takes - signs of recovery need to be present (see below) before re-
engaging
