Reports to: Senior HSE Coordinator

Reporting to the Senior HSE Coordinator, the HSE Assistant plays a key role maintaining Exchanger Industries
Limited’s safety program as well as partnering with the Operations team, supporting and consulting with both

management and employees. Under the direction of the Senior HSE Coordinator, this role is responsible for
various administrative and training duties for manufacturing facility located at 5105 – 54 Avenue SE, Calgary.

 Comply with EIL HSE Policies and Programs


 Provide general support and assistance to the Senior HSE Coordinator
 Assist the Senior HSE Coordinator with Health and Safety monitoring activities.
 Promote incident and accident prevention in the workplace
 Maintain regular visibility in production areas

 Assist in Annual Health and Safety audits


 Maintain relevant H&S Documents and Records
 Conduct Monthly Formal Workplace Inspections for Shop Departments and office locations
 Compile Monthly Workplace Inspection Reports
 Compile Monthly Statistics
Specific Accountabilities

 Assist in the development and implementation of Hazard Assessments and Safe Work Practices
 Ongoing communication of relevant H&S program updates
 Arrange health and safety training for company personnel
 Maintain Health and Safety training records and ensure training certifications
 Assist with Investigations and Root Cause Analysis and the implementation corrective actions

 Provide Contractor/Visitor Safety Orientations


 Work with Vendors and order specialty safety supplies when required
 Coordinate various specialists to visit the work site as needed
 Manage specialized PPE for EIL personnel with various vendors
 Manage Cintas First Aid

 Attend H&S training sessions as needed


 Attend H&S Committee Meetings
 Lead by example
 Filling and other duties as may be required from time to time.

Requirements:
 MSO (Manufacturing Safety Office)
 2-3 years of previous administrative support experience preferably within an HSE/EHS Department
(Health, Safety & Environmental)
 Proficient with MS Office Programs
 Ability to solve complex problems
 Ability to deal with conflict
