ASSIGNMENT QUESTION

PURPOSE
This assignment aims to evaluate learners’ understanding on the crisis communication, its
impacts and strategies to handle it in order to protect organisational reputations.

REQUIREMENT

Crisis communication is a sub-specialty of the public relations profession that is designed to


protect and defend an individual, company, or organisation facing a public challenge to its
reputation.

Based on the above statement, you are required to do the following:


1. Identify any TWO different recent crisis communications (whether individual, brand
and/or company) - Malaysia. Justify your selection by giving at least FIVE reasons,
especially on the nature and situation of the crisis and its impact on the public.

2. With reference to the chosen crisis, analyse how the individual, brand and/or
company response to the crisis. Describe whether you deemed their response
effective.

3. If you were that person and/or worked for that brand/company, suggest in detail the
actions would you have recommended.

4. Finally, discuss the importance of trust in crisis management.

SOALAN TUGASAN

TUJUAN
Tugas ini bertujuan untuk menilai pemahaman pelajar mengenai komunikasi krisis, impak
dan strategi untuk mengatasinya bagi melindungi reputasi organisasi.

KEPERLUAN
Komunikasi krisis ialah subkhusus profesion perhubungan awam yang dirancang untuk
melindungi dan mempertahankan individu, syarikat atau organisasi yang berhadapan
dengan cabaran pihak awam ke atas reputasinya.

Berdasarkan pernyataan di atas, anda dikehendaki melakukan perkara berikut:

1. Kenal pasti DUA komunikasi krisis terkini (sama ada individu, jenama dan/atau
syarikat) di Malaysia. Berikan justifikasi pemilihan anda dengan sekurang-kurang
LIMA sebab, khususnya tentang sifat dan situasi krisis berkenaan serta impaknya
terhadap pihak awam.

2. Dengan merujuk kepada krisis yang dipilih, bincangkan bagaimana tindak balas
individu, jenama dan/atau syarikat terhadap krisis tersebut. Huraikan sama ada
anda menganggap respons mereka berkesan.

3. Sekiranya anda merupakan individu dan/atau bekerja untuk jenama/syarikat


berkenaan, cadangkan secara terperinci tindakan-tindakan yang anda akan ambil.

4. Akhir sekali, bincangkan kepentingan kepercayaan dalam pengurusan krisis.
