COURSE NAME : PRINCIPLES OF MANAGEMENT

COURSE CODE : MGT1

COURSE DESCRIPTION : This course is an introductory course in Management exposing the students
to the basic expose of infinity. The emphasis would be in the major functions of
planning, organizing, staffing, directing, and controlling as they apply to day-to-day
business activity. An orientation towards hospitality industry and the importance
of human resource development is incorporated into the discussion.

COURSE CREDIT : 3 units

PRE-REQUISITE(S) : None

GENERAL OBJECTIVES : At the end of the term, the students are expected to:
1. Understand the evolution and theories associated in the existence of Management in the organization.
2. Identify the various integral functions of the managers in the organization.
3. Enhance knowledge in solving management cases applying those theories and principles in management.

40% - PERIODICAL EXAM (Prelim, Midterm, Semi-Finals and Finals)
