If you already have a WeldPRO Workcell created , and you want to


update all the files to match you present Actual Workcell, the process
is very straightforward.

Insert a USB Memory Stick in to Port UT1 on the i-Pendent

A USB Memory Stick with 1GB


capacity is as large as you need.

Using a stick with capacity larger


than 4GB may cause the backup
process to take more time.

To backup the controller files, press MENU, select File, and select File.

To choose memory storage device, press F5-UTIL, and select 1 Set Device

Choose the device: USB on TP (UT1).

This screen should have UT1: \ *.* in this area.

Press F4-BACKUP, and choose All of Above:

You will be prompted with the question “backup all files?”

After the files have been backup, you can view a list of the
files by pressing F2-DIR, directory.

Remove the USB Memory stick from the i-Pendant and insert it into
one of the USB ports on your PC.

Open your virtual workcell in WeldPRO.


Click on the Robot tab and double-click on Robot Properties.

This window below will appear on the screen.


Click on Serialize Robot.
The below warning window will appear.
Click OK.

This screen below will appear.


Choose “Create a robot from a file backup”, and click on the Browse icon.

Choose the USB memory stick that contain you AOA backup.
Click on the file call BACKDATE.DT, and click Open.

This screen will appear, click on Next>.

This screen will appear. This screen lists the options.


You cannot make changes to this screen because it represents
the robot with the A-O-A backup. Click on Next>.

The virtual robot will now boot-up. This may take several minutes.
