COVID 19 ANTIGEN TEST

Investigation
Result
SPECIMEN TYPE
: NASOPHARYNGEAL SWAB
COVID 19 ANTIGEN
: Negative

METHOD : Rapid chromatographic immunoassay

Intended use :

1)COVID-19 Ag test is a rapid chromatographic immunoassay for the qualitative detection of specific antigens to SARS-Co V-2 present in human
nasopharynx. This test provides only an initial screening result and is used as an aid to early diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 infection.

Limitation of test :

(1) A negative test result may occur if the level of extracted antigen in a specimen is below the sensitivity of the test or if poor quality specimen
is obtained.

(2)For more accuracy of immune status, additional follow-up testing with other laboratory method is recommended.

(3) The test result must always be evaluated with clinical and radiological data like HRCT available to the physician.

(4)Positive result does not rule co-infections with other pathogens.

(5)Children tend to shed virus for longer periods of time than adults, which may result in differences in sensitivity between adults and children.

NOTE :
Suspected individuals who test negative for COVID-19 by rapid antigen test should be definitely tested sequentially by RT-PCR with radiological
correlation to rule out infection, whereas a positive test should be considered as a true positive and does not need reconfirmation by RT-PCR
test.

Test performed on ICMR approved Covid-19 Ag kit.

The ICMR approval code is PUNE005

This test is being conducted in association with Sparsh Hospital , Somatane Phata , Tal - Maval , Pune 410506
