Bridge to Terabithia Book report

The book is about friendship, adventure, loss and life-changing teenage growth stories. It
tells a boy and a girl, Jesse and Leslie, two good friends who became acquainted with
each other because of the race, and used imagination to create a kingdom called
Terabithia, they had happy travel together. Until a tragedy happened, one of my friends
mustered up the courage to face the story of life alone.

The author called Katherine Womeldorf Paterson, a Chinese-born American writer best
known for children's novels. She won two Newbery Medals and two National Book
Awards. Bridge to Terabithia, is considered the most famous book.

The eleven-year-old boy Jesse wanted to be the fastest student in the school. Just as he
won the track and eld championship in his grade. A girl named Leslie became his athlete
on the track and eld. Leslie, the transfer student who seems to run faster than anyone
else, is a mysterious gure. Those classmates who gradually got to know her told others
that there was no TV in Leslie's house, and the whole room was lled with various books.
Jesse, who is enthusiastic and good friends, soon became good friends with the
generous and talkative Leslie. The next day, Leslie told Jesse that there was a kingdom
called Terabithia deep in the forest. There were no bad guys, no teachers who let you
study all day, and no nasty classmates. Everything was Very beautiful. Even everything is
up to you, whatever you want.

Jesse, who is naturally active and likes freedom, naturally yearns for this mysterious
kingdom. So Leslie asked him to close his eyes and "dream about" entering the
mysterious kingdom of Terabithia together, and wandering comfortably in the kingdom
they had imagined. Since then, Jesse and Leslie have often fantasized about Terabithia
and they regarded themselves as king and queen, although the real world still has
countless complexities and challenges. But when tired, the two will meet and wander in
this wonderful fantasy world. However, there are also terrible enemies in this beautiful
place, and they must lead the good elves and the evil dark forces to ght to the death.

That's part of what can make reading Jess and Leslie's story helpful and important. It helps us
understand three things:

1. That it's OK to feel sad after a big loss.

2. That we should be able to grieve when we lose somebody.

3. That, most of all, we'll be able to honor and remember those people even after they part
from us.

Losing a best friend is probably one of the toughest things to go through in life, no matter how old
or young you are. The fact that Jess only has Leslie in his life for less than a year makes her loss
even more tragic, if that's even possible: as soon as he nds her, she slips away. But Jess gains
so much from his friendship with Leslie – the kinds of life-changing support that almost can't be
put into words – that their mutual transformation is more signi cant than the fact they only had a
little time together. Reading about Jess's loss and how he deals with it – how he chooses to be
brave, look forward, and honor his friend – helps prepare us to deal with future sadness, or honor
people close to us who are no longer here.
