Topic: Some people think that government should ban dangerous sports, while others

think people should have freedom to do any sports or activities. Discuss both view and
give your opinion.

Some people argue that strict restrictions on notorious extreme sports should be imposed while
certain individuals subscribe to a belief that people should be given freedom to engage in these
sports. From my perspective, individual preferences should be respected and nothing can
govern them; however, some security measures should be taken into consideration to prevent
regrettable injuries.

The most concerned reason for the ban on thrilling sports is their potential for injuries and death.

 Lack of supporting idea: if above is the topic sentence, then the rest should clarify that
point: “Reason for banning sports / what concerns drive some people to that choice”
 If not, the topic sentence should be revised: “Though some people err on the side of
banning risky sports due to their danger in nature, this concern may be out of proportion
to the risks involved / may be irrelevant.”

However, if this law is enacted, it may pose a threat to the local economies of some areas
whose incomes mainly come from adventurous activities for tourism. Therefore, instead of
introducing prohibitive regulations on extreme sports, government ought to pay heed to safety
measures and proper precautions to foil potential accidents. People participating in sports may
be required to undergo appropriate trainings to minimize the possibility of dangers. They may
also be equipped with prospective equipment and accompanied with experienced professionals.
Thus, prohibition on this sport may not be the most suitable method to resolve security’s
problems.

On the other hand, sport is considered common recreational pursuits; therefore, people have
rights to freely experience these thrilling sports without control of others. Those who are
fascinated by adventure sports may be inclined to challenge themselves and desire to have the
feeling of self- achievement and success. Taking diving as an example, these adventure sports
may satisfy diver’s curiosity about marine habitat encompassing everything from underwater
creatures, corals,.. Then they can boast about these once-in-a-lifetime experience in front of
their families and colleagues. Additionally, these thrilling sports, irrespective of accidents, may
maintain their physique because these sports are almost demanding physically and require
them to consume more calories. That also help them to develop long-term healthy eating habits.

In conclusion, although necessary rules about security should be taken seriously, people’s
desire to engage in extreme sports should be free in terms of privacy and physical health.
