Tool 16 – Training Need Analysis (TeacherGuru))

The outline of Training Need Analysis (TNA) contains:

 Who needs training?


 What kind of training is needed and why?
 How will the training be carried out?
 What is the cost of training required?
 What is the expected outcome?

Step 1 – Analyze expected Output and Outcome


It can be directly analyzed from: 1). Teacher Job Description, 2). School Development
Plan – SDP or Strategic Plan).
Teacher Job Description guru is the basis for the Competence Matrix, i.e. the list of
any competency is needed to complete a Job Description or when there are
additional tasks related to the school strategy.

Step 2 – Analyze Competence Level (competence assessment)


Analyze the current competence level, based on the Competence Matrix.

Step 3 – Analyze Competence Gap (competence gap


analysis)
Compare the competence needed with the current competence.

Step 4 – Analyze Training Needs


Based on Gap Competence Analysis, it can be known any training needed by related
teacher. Determine training priority.

Step 5 – Prepare Training Plan


Prepare training plan that consists of teacher’s name, type of training, training
location, training time and budget.
