Online Reading Task

1. Title: CHEMISTRY.

2. Learning outcome: Students will be able to comprehend, use, and analyze research
articles in their area of knowledge.

3. Instructions: Choose one title from the research papers your tutor provided you with and
search for it in the University Database. You are going to write a summary, in Spanish, that
does not exceed one page, double spaced in 12-inch font, in a Word Document. The
summary should cover the research methodology, the research question(s), and the
aspects you consider relevant from the findings and discussion section (s). Upload it to
your platform.

4. Students will surf the net to find the information.

Level 1: 4.5 - 5

The summary reflects an excellent level of the student’s comprehension, which is evident
through (1) the inclusion of all the aspects required in the task, and (2) a very clear and coherent
text.

Level 2: 4 – 4.4

The summary reflects a good level of the student’s comprehension, which is evident through (1)
the inclusion of almost all the aspects required in the task, and (2) a quite clear and coherent
text.

Level 3: 3.0 – 3.9

The summary reflects an acceptable level of the student’s comprehension: (1) the student
included most of the aspects required in the task, and (2) despite eventual confusion and/or
inaccuracies, his/her text was mostly clear and coherent.

Level 4: 2.0 – 2.9

The summary does not reflect an acceptable level of the student’s comprehension: (1) the
student missed important aspects required in the task, and/or (2) his/her text was mostly unclear.

Level 5: 1.0 – 1.9

Did not submit summary or it was either very incomplete or confusing.
