2013 and is currently majority-owned by Oppo as its only shareholder, which is a subsidiary of
BBK Electronics along with Vivo, Realme, and iQOO.

The company follows a list of steps and procedures to help itself promote towards digital
platforms like Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and many other platforms so that they succeed
successfully.
● Cleaver Use of Hashtags:
Oneplus, in all of its campaigns, leveraging the power of hashtags combined with other social
media strategies to engage with its audience. Never Settle is a hashtag that is born out of Oneplus
and it has been using this hashtag in all of its marketing campaigns.
● Less Expenditure on Traditional Marketing:
As compared to Samsung and Apple, Oneplus spends less money on traditional marketing like
billboards and commercials as it spends its marketing budget on the social platforms that help the
company to spend less on marketing and the social platforms are free and have a lot of users they
can communicate with.
● Using Influencers:
The company also uses Influencers that have a lot of followers and a true Fan base in 2019 the
company partnered with Robert Downey Jr. to promote their latest Phone that was the Oneplus
6T, the company continues to use influencers like Disha Patni, Neha Sharma, and other
influencers to promote their products.
As mobile gaming is becoming more and more famous and a lot of companies are developing
their mobile versions of their games so one plus is also using mobile gamers to promote their
products the company sponsors gamers to Live stream their products some of which are Neman
Mathur (Soul Mortal), Tanmay Bhatt (Scout), Aditya Sharma (Casetoo).
● Creating hype on Social Media:
The company creates a lot of hype on social media platforms like Twitter and Reddit by
releasing a teaser for their upcoming product or sometimes mistakenly leaking their products so
that more and more media covers the topic and in return, it helps the company to stay in news
and sell more products.

Digital Marketing Supporting the Companies Objective:


We can see that the digital marketing strategies are helping the company to achieve its objectives
as of 2019 the company sold 7.3 M phones which were later crossed by Googles Pixel 3.
The strategies also help the company to position itself among their customers as a budget-
friendly phone that rivals the top-of-the-line smartphone brands at a lower price providing clean
software and an impressive gaming experience as well.
The phones are recommended by streamers and competitive players that shifted from Apple to
Oneplus only for its better display refresh rate and more RAM allowing the company to position
itself on a small but loyal segment of the gaming industry or which is better known as the
Esports Industry.
