Question -1:

According to Henri Fayol managers are delegated formal authorities within the organizational framework
to enable them to perform the main functions/tasks of management. List and explain five management
functions in a typical business organisation as enunciated by Fayol. (06)

Question-2:
Two students of business studies were of different opinion Sheeda (student 1) is of view that all the
managers are leaders while Meeda (student 2) is of view that all leader are managers. State your opinion
supporting them with logical reasoning

Question-3:

Consider the following with their appropriate concept with regards to Taylor,Fayol and Urwick also
mention the relevant heading.

1) Re-organisation is a continuous process: in every undertaking specific provision should be made for it

2) Workers should be selected carefully. They should have the skills and abilities that are well-suited to
the work. They should also be trained in how to do the work efficiently.

3) Ultimate union of the management and employees within an organization, which leads to an
organization which is proud of what it does, and which has garnered a lot of loyalty from its employees
and customers

4) One person should report to a single manager higher up the chain only. So an executive should report
to a team manager, who should report to the regional manager who will report to the national manager, so
on and so forth.

5) In every organised group the supreme authority must rest somewhere. There should be a clear line of
authority to every individual in the group.

6) There should be an equal division of work between the workers and management, and workers and
managers should operate closely together

7) The company, from the CEO level to the executive level should be moving towards one direction. If
growth is the direction you are moving to, then a single executive to the CEO of the company should be
performing in a manner which brings growth for the company. And this executive should be trained and
managed accordingly by his managers
8) Scientifically-selected and trained workers and the science of work should be brought together for the
best results and greatest efficiency.

9) The purpose of organising per se, as distinguished from the purpose of the undertaking, is to facilitate
co-ordination and thus unity of effort.

10) Many a time, a person is removed from the company when he is moon lighting or doing his own
sideline jobs. This is because the company wants to ensure, that the person who is working in the
company is giving his 100% to the company. (10)
