3.3 Online & Blended Learning - develop, model, and facilitate the use of online and blended learning,
digital content, and learning networks to support and extend student learning and expand opportunities
and choices for professional learning for teachers and administrators.
______________________________________________________________________________

Briefly describe the artifact and the context in which it was created. What was your individual
contribution(s)?
The blended learning syllabus I created includes all information students, parents, and learning

coaches would need to be successful in the blended learning course. In this syllabus, I have

described course goals and content, expectations, policies, student technology requirements,

and supportive assistance. This syllabus provides details on learning outcomes and a description

of course topics by week. Also included in the syllabus is a Student Right to Privacy statement,

student disabilities statement, and copyright statement. The purpose of this syllabus is to

outline and explain the blended learning course and provide appropriate resource so all

students will have the opportunity to be successful.

Explain how this artifact demonstrates mastery of the standard/element under which it is placed.
The blended learning syllabus demonstrates my ability to develop online and blended learning,

digital content, and learning networks and provides an outline of the course. Students will be

participating in both online and face-to-face learning experiences and will complete the coursework

at their own pace. As students are working, I will model and facilitate the learning process, assist

students in their coursework, provide content instruction for full group and small group, and guide

students toward success.

What did you learn from completing this artifact? What would you do differently to improve the
quality of the artifact or the process involved in creating the artifact? (Not changing anything is
not an acceptable response.)
By completing this artifact, I learned creating a syllabus for an online or blended learning course

requires much more planning and more detail must be included. The syllabus should represent a

true outline of the course, expectations, and policies that will be followed. The syllabus I created

provides students with information about the course they will be completing, but also provides

details for parents or learning coaches to appropriately assist student learning from home. To

improve this artifact, I would provide examples of assignments and online tools students will be

using to provide the opportunity for them to practice using these tools before beginning

coursework.

How did the work that went into creating this artifact impact school improvement, faculty
development, or student learning? How can this impact be assessed?
The work that went into creating this artifact will impact student learning specifically. The

blended learning syllabus is a resource that can be accessed throughout the entirety of the blended

learning course. It provides all information and a description of all expectations and policies that

should be followed for students to be successful in the course.
