SCIENCE TEACHER Reflection Paper
Teachers are not entering the classroom as finished products.
Most teachers who remain in the profession improve and develop over time and thus we should connect teacher training with standards for teacher training, student standards, curriculums and evaluations, in order for new and in-service teachers to be developed and supported in alignment with this system. The creation and maintenance of high-quality science teachers need the continued professional development. The DEPED is responsible for ensuring that all teachers get continuing professional growth and greater student achievement training to improve their classroom teaching. The DEDED must "let every teacher have scientific growth opportunities focusing on evaluating and enhancing educational practice and therefore enhancing the quality of science education. Teacher's teaching abilities and topic understanding should be monitored and assessed frequently during the classroom. Such assessments should include relatively low-level stakeholder assessments, such as those providing a teacher's remedy, determining the teacher's assistance or identifying the impact of a vocational development program, or evaluations of other high- level decisions, such as pay for performance, promotion or tenure. I am on the road towards teacher effectiveness because my practice demonstrates these five qualities: caring, trust, dedication, creativity and commitment. I care about my students because I am worried about their learning and their lives. I am myself when I am with them and have a good rapport with them. I am confident in their abilities and in my own. This is why the class is designed around “hands-on” laboratories and inquiry. I am creative. I am not constrained to the lesson plan. I follow the learning and try to involve my students in the process. I'm competent. I continue to develop my understanding of topic and pedagogy so that my students will benefit from my whole effort. I have a dedication to my students' teaching profession and learning. I model an apprenticing love to "catch it" my students too. I'm not 100% efficient, who's it? But day after day, as a science teacher, I become more effective.
